

Richard Kim is a Partner at Grant, Genovese & Baratta. An experienced litigator specializing in matters such as personal injury, premises liability, property disputes, habitability, and construction defects. His expertise encompasses all aspects of litigation, including arbitration, mediation, and trial proceedings.
Richard attended the University of Southern California for his undergraduate studies and later obtained his Juris Doctorate at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles. He began his legal career with a focus in the public interest arena, assisting immigrants to become U.S. citizens in the Koreatown region of Los Angeles. Through his position as the Immigration Director of the Korean American Coalition and partnerships with various community-based organizations throughout southern California and the legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service, Richard has made a real impact on the lives of thousands of immigrants residing in the greater Los Angeles area. Subsequently, he transitioned to private practice litigation work, where he has represented clients in catastrophic injury claims and complex business litigation. Richard also served as in-house counsel to a prominent materials manufacturing company, handling litigation involving mechanic’s liens, construction defects, and general liability claims against the company. Immediately prior to his current position, Richard also spent time defending government agencies involving police brutality claims. Currently, his focus has been on representing clients as part of the firm’s defense litigation practice in a wide variety of legal matters, from case initiation to trial.
When he is not practicing law, Richard spends most of his time honing his skills as a husband and father to his wife and 3 children.
