JASON S. ROBERTS, PARTNER

Jason S. Roberts is an experienced civil litigator whose practice focuses on complex litigation in California and federal courts.  Jason advises clients on a wide array of disputes concerning real property, insurance coverage, catastrophic personal injury, intellectual property, right-of-publicity and business matters.  Jason also represents Fortune 500 managed health care providers in ERISA disputes involving subrogation and reimbursement claims.

Jason joined Grant, Genovese & Baratta in 2005 and became partner in the firm in 2013.  The foundation of Jason’s success is a commitment to obtaining favorable results for his clients, even in less-than-favorable situations.  Jason has significant trial experience including over 150 bench trials and arbitrations.

Jason’s history of outstanding results have earned him a reputation for excellence.  For five straight years from 2009 to 2014, the publishers of Los Angeles Magazine Law & Politics have selected Jason as a “Southern California Rising Star”. This distinction is awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys under the age of 40.

    Second-chaired successful insurance coverage trial in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained complete defense verdict for defendant insurance carrier facing coverage for underlying judgment based on tenant’s exposure to mold.


    Successfully obtained emergency Temporary Restraining Order to prevent disbursement of funds in subrogation/reimbursement ERISA matter.


    Defended Copyright and Trademark litigation brought by a preeminent motion picture studio against alleged infringer seeking upwards of $4 million in damages.


    Obtained order granting motion to dismiss and anti-SLAPP motion for defendant in Civil Rights action in United States District Court.
