DESTINI C. BLUNT, ASSOCIATE
Destini C. Blunt is an associate attorney at Grant, Genovese & Baratta, joining the firm’s insurance litigation department in September 2022. Ms. Blunt received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis on Law and Society from California State University Northridge in 2017. While there, she was a member of Model United Nations in which she competed against students from across the country in large scale competitions from New York to Washington D.C., and received awards while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more. She also gained valuable courtroom experience while a judicial intern for a judge in the Los Angeles Superior Courts as a part of a mentoring program that granted access to proceedings and trials in criminal, civil, and family law courtrooms.
Upon graduation, Ms. Blunt attended law school at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. During law school, Ms. Blunt was a member of the Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Team where she competed against students from law schools across the country and received Third Best Memorial at the Washington D.C. Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition. Thereafter, she led a team of middle school students to a mock trial victory while volunteering for the Prime Time Youth Mock Trial Program.
Prior to joining Grant, Genovese & Baratta, Ms. Blunt gained courtroom and practice experience working as a law clerk for the Los Angeles County Office of the Public Defender and assisting in felony trials, and later as a law clerk Ventura County Public Defender’s Office. Ms. Blunt now utilizes her diverse experience to passionately defend her clients’ best interests and provide zealous advocacy through all phases of litigation.
