John Kelly is an associate attorney and member of the Business, Corporate, and Transactional Team, who joined the firm in September 2023. John’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance, real estate purchases and investments, investment & finance, commercial leasing, and business contracts.

John began his legal career as a file clerk in 2017 working in the mergers and acquisitions department at a mid-sized law firm in Irvine. There, John quickly worked his way up the corporate ladder, becoming a key paralegal for the department within a year. John’s experience includes representing and advising clients regarding business acquisitions and sales, as well as extensive involvement in a broad range of business and transaction planning projects focusing on entity ownership structure, business succession, risk management and allocation, compliance with State and Federal corporate law, and real estate investments and holdings.

John earned his law degree from Chapman University with an emphasis in Business Law in 2023. While attending law school, John earned multiple awards for achieving the highest grades in his Mergers & Acquisitions, Practice Foundations: Transactions, and Business Associations courses. Previously, John received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Outside of the legal world, John enjoys spending time with his wife (Courtney), son (Asher), and labradoodle (Byron). When John is not spending time with his family, he is most often found with a Kindle in hand, spending time in the ocean, or watching Anaheim Ducks games.
