In a notable legal victory, GGB successfully represented a tile installation subcontractor in the personal injury lawsuit Phyllis Paxton v. Sterling Motors et al., (2019) OCSC Case No. 30-2017-00919944-CU-NP-CJC.
The case arose from a trip and fall accident at the Sterling BMW automobile dealership in Newport Beach, California. The plaintiff, Phyllis Paxton, who was 72 at the time, claimed that negligent tile installation caused her to fall and sustain serious injuries, including a lumbar vertebral traumatic wedge compression fracture. She further alleged that she would suffer from severe pain for the remainder of her life.
Our legal team, led by Milton V. Fajardo, meticulously prepared a robust defense. Our team conducted thorough investigations and gathered essential evidence to counter the plaintiff’s claims. Throughout the three-week trial, held before the Honorable Judge John C. Gastelum, we presented a compelling case that resonated with the jury.
Ultimately, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of our client, absolving them of liability. This significant outcome underscored our firm’s ability to effectively manage and defend complex personal injury litigation.
