In a complex and challenging case, GGB successfully defended California Capital Insurance Company in Harz v. California Capital Insurance Company (01044974). The plaintiffs rejected a $1.3 million settlement offer for their bad faith claim, instead demanding $14 million. The case proceeded to trial, lasting an arduous forty-two days.
Throughout the trial, our legal team conducted thorough investigations and presented compelling evidence to counter the bad faith allegations. Despite the trial court instructing that our client had breached the insurance contract, we successfully explained the nuances and complexities of the case to the jury.
After three days of deliberation, the Santa Barbara jury returned a verdict of only $41,000, a fraction of the plaintiffs’ $14 million demand.
