Theresa H. Rava joined Grant, Genovese & Baratta, LLP in November 2010 practicing in the firm’s insurance defense litigation department and the firm’s business litigation matters. Prior to practicing law, Theresa had an extensive corporate finance career developing business skills to assist her in understanding the client perspective.
Since joining the firm, Theresa has defended a wide variety of matters, including construction defect, premises liability, landslides, personal injury, and trucking / motor vehicle accidents. She also handles coverage issues and fee disputes.

During 2014, Theresa Rava successfully extricated a homeowner from a complex matter involving property damage caused by a landslide. She negotiated one dismissal, prevailed on three summary judgment motions, and obtained a court dismissal on a related case.
Obtained a voluntary dismissal by plaintiff for a small business owner after filing a motion for summary judgment, in advance of the hearing, in exchange for a waiver of costs.
After a contentious lawsuit in which the firm represented an insurance company suing another insurance company for bad faith, Theresa Rava convinced the court to award 98% of the costs disputed by the defendant.
